SALINA BABE RUTH WINS MIDWEST REGIONAL!
Salina Venom win the Midwest Plains Regional Championship in Garden City this past weekend. With the 18U regional title, the Salina Babe Ruth team advances to the Babe Ruth World Series. The World Series is in Cape Girardeau, Mo., from Aug. 9-16.
The Venom, who are coached by Mark Johnson, defeated the Colorado state champions, the Buckley Bombers in the semifinals, 18-8. Salina scored 4 in the 1st inning and 3rd inning and another 5 in the 4th to blow open the lead. Chance Hogan pitched the final 5 2/3 innings, allowing 2 earned runs in the winning effort.
In the championship game, Salina defeated Garden City Venom 6-3.
Tristan Hitchens allowed 2 runs over 5 innings to earn the win in the championship game and Cade Law earned the save.
Ryan Brown, Hunter Johnson and Conner Fry delivered RBI's in the title game. In the semi-final victory, Brown and Laws had 4 and 3 runs driven in,
respectivefully. For the tournament, Luke Koland had the top batting average at .533 and top run producers were Brown, with 5 and Landon Huffman and
Hogan with 4 a piece.

Babe Ruth Baseball League!
The Babe Ruth Baseball League, using regulation competitive baseball rules, teaches skills, mental and physical development, a respect for the rules of the game, and basic ideals of sportsmanship and fair play. In all aspects, The Babe Ruth Baseball League is committed to providing our participants the very best educational/sports experience possible. It is our fundamental belief that every child with a desire to play baseball be afforded that opportunity.
This will be the fourth year of service for our program. We've qualified for the Midwest Regional in all three years, placing fifth last year, and we are excited about the opportunity to do it again this year!
We have recently partnered with the Greater Salina Community Foundation in order to begin to lay the longterm financial ground-work to ensure that Salina Babe Ruth is around to provide a great program full of sports opportunities for the next generation and beyond!

Babe Ruth Baseball League
Babe Ruth Baseball - Ages 13-16
Founded in 1951, Babe Ruth Baseball League was created for ballplayers ages 13-15 who wished to continue their baseball playing experience beyond the age of 12. In this division, teams are eligible to enter tournament competition and move along the tournament trail, culminating in a World Series.Babe Ruth Baseball - Ages 16-18
Babe Ruth Baseball Ages 16-18 The primary objective of the 16-18 Division is to provide a community level program which eventually gives players the chance to compete at the state, regional level with an opportunity to reach the 16-18 Year-Old World Series.The highest and most accomplished level in Babe Ruth Baseball. A favorite among high school players and coaches, this division prepares players for collegiate recruiting and the professional draft.
